Welcome to my blog! I am Carlos, a researcher and science communicator in training. I made this space to write about my three passions:
(1) Deep Time: How has the Earth changed over time? What happened at the origin of life? How did multicellular organisms evolve? What stories can fossils tell us?
(2) Technology: I am interested in where we are headed as a species. I follow emerging technologies in synthetic biology, brain-computer interfaces, artificial cells, and commercialization of space. What will our future look like? What technological problems need to be solved to get there?
(3) History of Science: How do we generate knowledge? What is truth? What has science looked like across history? How are scientific institutions influenced by their historical context? How are scientific fields born?
There is exciting research happening every day, and my favorite thing in the world is talking about it with others!
